First package

Now that I've reviewed the photos I took of our first package, I realize that I didn't attach the nail for making the holes for the pins! My apologies to our customer, and I will be sending a card with the nail tomorrow.

Tips for pin art installation

Here are a few tips and suggestions for making the installation of your Transcendental Treasures pins easy and beautiful:

• Though our product is made with push pins and T-pins, they are delicate, so it is best not to push directly on the aluminum to insert the pin into the wall. Each kit will include a small nail to use for making the hole in the wall for your pin to be placed in. Using the pre-made hole method should prevent damage to the pins during installation.


• Particularly with the short push pins, it is easier to remove them from the foam board and/or wall by sliding a fork underneath so that it is in contact with the pin directly rather than pulling on the aluminum piece.


• If you are using the pins to write a word, we recommend using the longer T-pin style when you need to overlap. This will give the word art piece an interesting 3D depth and avoid a cluttered (if overlapping all short push pins) or sparse (if not overlapping) look.

First two weeks

The first two weeks of business has been remarkable compared to my expectations. We've been seen by many eyes and have even made our first sale! I'm looking forward to packaging up 100 black butterfly pins for delivery to our first customer. That was one thing that worried me about selling this craft - how to deliver these kits? I finally decided upon using hard foam boards in a box with a soft foam sheet barrier between layers of pins. The set of 100 pins will take two 12-inch square cake boxes with 4-5 foam boards filled with pins. I have several lovely ribbon options from which to choose to wrap the boxes together. Labels and basic instruction sheet are designed and printed. Packaging these pins is going to become as much fun as making them, I think!
